As you know, this month I worked with Matija Ferlin on his solo stage piece “Staging a Play: Antigone”. I decided to release a selection of music material that was made through that process. Since I worked mainly with SuperCollider (programming language for algorithmic composition and sound design) I also wanted to give out source code that helped shape that sound. I will be writing/recording about that process soon.
Now, here are the goodies:
- 75 minutes of ambiental symphonic minimal drone-kind of music neatly packaged in an album on bandcamp: music.lukaprincic.si/album/antigone-child
- A music video for a track called “The Mother (Act VII)” – if you’ve seen the Ferlin’s show, it’s actually music for the last act, watch it on share.tube in full HD!
- Source code to play with in SuperCollider – without modifications it actually produces 9 tracks otherwise present in either the show or on album. You need SuperCollider installed to play with it: kamizdat.si/rls/kam030/antigone-child-source_code.zip or pull the code from GitLab.
As an alternative to Bandcamp you can get the music directly at kamizdat.si/rls/kam030/
As always, many thanks for support from my patrons, you are all featured in the end credits of the video.
